Yes it is shame the weather decided not to get in on FGW's plans to run plenty of carriages this morning...it's miserable out there, unless you like rain or are a duck!

Just goes to show you can't run a railway very easily based on the weather! Still lots of summer to come to make up from lost revenue today. At least if you were on this service there was plenty of space!

In amongst a lot of the apparent madnesses that don't look after the interests of the customer first and foremost, there are also a lot of sane people making sane decisions .... like strengthening the seaside trains on holiday mondays when other services don't run.

I've seen comments made that "we cannot predict how many passengers will offer for travel" as an excuse for overcrowding. True,  if you're looking for an exact number ... but an esimate can be made quite easily.
