Title: Police deliver pizza after stopping driver in Colchester, Essex - September 2024 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on September 26, 2024, 22:29:50 I'm posting this here, simply because I can't find any more appropriate board for it. ::)
From the BBC (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3rlpj7ddneo): Quote Police officers have made sure a takeaway pizza reached its destination safely after stopping the driver who was delivering it. On Tuesday night, community police in Colchester spotted a car that showed up on their records as uninsured. They soon realised the driver was delivering food, so officers opted to split up. One stayed with the vehicle while it was collected by a recovery truck and the other delivered the pizza "while it was still hot." On Facebook, external, Essex Police posted: "The officers have also sent the necessary paperwork through so the driver of the uninsured car can explain their decision to drive without insurance to the courts." Using the hashtag #MoreThanCrimeFighters, the force said the officers' actions highlighted their compassion.
