An officer was attacked on Saturday evening at Preston railway station in Lancashire, British Transport Police (BTP) said. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. A 53-year-old man from Preston has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a bladed article and is due to appear at Preston Magistrates' Court later. The attack led to partial closures of the station as people were leaving the BBC Radio 2 in the Park music festival.
