Former Tory rail minister admits failure on reform – and praises train staff and unions

Huw Merriman: ‘These people work hard and should be shown more respect’

We have been through a number of Secretaries of State and Rail Ministers in the last decade, and local Conservative MPs we have got to know and been sometime supportive over the years.  A number of them were not re-elected last month and a number such as Huw Merriman stood down.  Where are they now?  What are their plans for the future?   Will some be looking to re-direct their publicly stated opinions?

Sir Liam Fox (was MP for North Somerset) has continued with his 'other interests'.

His online office has been marked 'Permanently closed' - much to my daughter's amusement.  ::)
