Title: Madge Elliot: obituary in 'The Scotsman'. Post by: Mark A on August 06, 2024, 11:25:52 For over forty years of her life, the Waverley Route was part of the transport provision for Madge Elliot's home town of Hawick, and she campaigned against its closure. She lived long enough to see the Scottish Borders Railway opened to Tweedbank, the ambition is vry much alive to continue the line via Hawick which will give all of us the benefits of a vibrant new Anglo-Scottish rail link.
