Title: SERVER NAME MOVE - afternoon of 30th July 2024
Post by: grahame on July 30, 2024, 12:17:08
HEADLINE ALERT - our Name Server is shifting in the next few hours and there may be a break in service for up to 120 minutes.    The main data server is NOT effected and so it will come back automatically with all data restored.

That move did NOT happen (although our WSP said they would) and I am moving lots of domains manually. I will move the main Coffee Shop domain tonight ...

Moved, and operational again on the new name server.

Nothing changes/changed at the Coffee Shop at this stage - the move was the equivalent of unplugging from one mains outlet and plugging into another.  The warning were just on the remote chance of the whole thing going belly up for a while.

Always nice when a five minute IT job really does take only five minutes.
