Title: CrossCountry 3 month ‘resilience’ timetable. 10th August - 9th November 2024 Post by: readytostart on July 29, 2024, 15:50:53 XC introducing an emergency timetable for three months. Most NE-Reading trains gone, along with north of Edinburgh on weekdays and cuts on 170 routes.
I don’t have a full list of the cancellations and amendments but XC have put PDFs of the first week’s changes here: https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/travel-updates-information/temporary-timetable (https://www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/travel-updates-information/temporary-timetable) Title: Re: CrossCountry 3 month ‘resilience’ timetable. 10th August - 9th November 2024 Post by: IndustryInsider on July 29, 2024, 17:26:52 The NE<>Reading axis has been very unreliable since it was partly re-introduced.
They were planning on reinstating most of the others next May IIRC? If this temporary timetable both increases reliability on the remaining services, and if some of those are now lengthened, and if all this helps facilitate the full introduction next May then I am fully behind it. Sadly, most journeys on XC remain a pretty miserable experience! If they stick to this temporary timetable the early morning services to Stanstead and Cardiff are removed so driving to Bromsgrove to go North/East or Cheltenham to go to the South west/South Wales will be the only option.
