Title: Finding your train Post by: grahame on April 04, 2024, 10:36:49 There are several stations in the Centre of Warsaw - each having underground of lines running East/West and in close proximity to one another. "Warszawa Centralna is connected by an underground passage to two other rail stations: to the west lies Warszawa Śródmieście WKD railway station, the terminus of the WKD suburban light rail line, and to the east lies Warszawa Śródmieście PKP, served by suburban trains run by Koleje Mazowieckie and Szybka Kolej Miejska" says WikiPedia
Having found the correct station, find the correct platform. Island platforms have tracks on both sides - a single platform number, but then two track numbers (and in order of their ranking across the whole station) and you need to find the right side of the island. For longer trains (and mine is 6 carriages today) you need to find the right sector of the platform and make sure you wait for the correct train number at the right time. Lots of trains call, and it had best be the right one. When it arrives, look for the correct carriage and the seat you have reserved in the carriage. Simples - don't know why some people find train travel so difficult. Station Centralna Platform 2 Track 1 Sector 1 Train IC144 Time 07:46 Carriage 15 Seat 16 Oh - if you miss the train, don't worry - there will be another one to the same destination along tomorrow - it runs 7 days a week.
