Title: Depth of the London Underground - below the surface Post by: grahame on January 13, 2024, 10:09:07 A fascinating old one from The Standard (https://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/graphic-designers-tube-maps-reveal-exactly-how-far-underground-you-are-on-every-station-platform-a3870156.html) that has been regurgitated in the Daily Mail (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12938867/London-Underground-tube-deep-underground.html) this morning - it must be a slow news day. I have archived for members at http://www.passenger.chat/mirror/London_Underground_Depth_Diagrams.pdf from the original via https://www.dansilva.co.uk/down-underground .
Title: Re: Depth of the London Underground - below the surface Post by: broadgage on January 14, 2024, 15:05:22 AFAIK, the proposed but never opened station at bull and bush, would have been the deepest on the underground.
It was partly built but never used as a station, it remains in use as deep bunker in case of war.
