Title: Chiltern woes... Post by: IndustryInsider on January 12, 2024, 16:50:26 I know we're very GWR centric when it comes to comments and criticism, but I'm surprised the Chiltern disruption since yesterday hasn't prompted a thread.
A landslip between Haddenham & Bicester means only one line open to traffic until midday next Monday at the earliest. There is bi-directional signalling fitted but it's a l-o-n-g section so only one train can pass through it every 15 minutes. Only one train per hour is operating between Birmingham<>Marylebone, with the Oxford<>Marylebone services are only running to Bicester Village, and other stoppers cancelled. In addition a signalling fault this afternoon between Gerrards Cross and West Ruislip has made matter substantially worse with some very heavy delays and cancellations. Advice is not to travel and disruption expected until 21:00. Title: Re: Chiltern woes... Chiltern now saying DO NOT TRAVELQuote Cancellations to services between Gerrards Cross and West Ruislip Due to a fault with the signalling system between Gerrards Cross and West Ruislip all lines are blocked. Impact Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 120 minutes. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. So only closed between HDM & BCS/BIT, rather than the whole line.
