Title: Rash of cancellations between Gloucester and Birmingham evening of 30.10.2023
Post by: Witham Bobby on October 31, 2023, 10:52:10
My daughter had a taxi ride instead of a GWR train last evening from Cheltenham to Worcester.

Having had a look, I see there was a rash of cancellations, starting at about 1600 and lasting through until 0700 ish this morning (31.10.2023)

Anyone have any ideas as to the cause?  Realtime Trains gives a variety of reasons, depending on what train service you look at

A freight train which was struggling to make 5mph finally expired at Tredington and had to be rescued by a loco from Bristol.  Presumably crew and rolling stock in the wrong place led to cancellations in the opposite direction.

Thanks for the information
