Kingsbridge was the train station that U.S.A. soldiers bodies were brought to,after the events at Slapton Sands. Title: Re: primrose line on BBC south west news(spotlight) Post by: johnneyw on September 15, 2023, 15:44:44 Just time to let anyone who may be interested know that former Loddiswell Station on this old line is usually a destination for tomorrow's Kingsbridge Vintage bus running day. All services are free of charge to a number of locations both inland and the coast including Loddiswell Station which is now a private home but opens for the event. You can buy cakes and drinks on the platform with proceeds going to charity and explore the station grounds. The regular service to and from Kingsbridge gives you ample time for a good nose around.
All services run from Kingsbridge bus station in the centre of town at the head of the Creek and you can buy a program of all services and running times there for about a fiver. Also, just about 100 metres from there is the Kingsbridge and District Light Railway running creekside from Kingsbridge Ria End halt to near the Crabshell Inn. I've been a few times....might even go tomorrow as I'm in the area anyway. Well worth a look. Stop press. Some of the blurb on the website below says that one of the routes is to South Brent following as closely as possible the Primrose Line's route. http://www.tvagwot.org.uk/event-kingsbridge2023.htm This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
