A person has died after being hit by a train in Devon. The incident happened at Teignmouth Station just after 1pm today (Wednesday). Trains in the area were stopped as a result. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the person on the tracks was pronounced dead at the scene. As of 3pm, train lines in the area were blocked with disruption expected until 4pm, according to National Rail. A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Teignmouth Station at 1.07pm today (13 September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. "Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
