Title: Pass, Freedom ticket, Rover, Ranger, Season Post by: grahame on August 04, 2023, 13:33:29 Pass, Freedom ticket, Rover, Ranger, Season ... how many different names are there for multiuse ("unlimited journey") tickets ... and how do you find out which one's right for you? For my home station, I did a matrix of what I think are all of the tickets of this sort on our line. Have I missed any?

It's a "day ranger" that is not unlimited journeys - it's a single round trip. So it's a faux-ranger! Quote Valid for one journey around the designated circuit in either direction, starting at any station on the circuit. Yes - outbound to a ranger / rover area with a regular return ticket to "there". I have also extended a FoSS with a "Explore Cardiff and Valleys" - oh, help - not a pass, not a freedom, not a ranger, not a rover - an explore Title: Re: Pass, Freedom ticket, Rover, Ranger, Season Post by: Bmblbzzz on August 04, 2023, 15:50:13 Perhaps this field is in almost as much need of simplification as fares? The ticket itself though is now rather less useable if starting from England as it's no longer valid on GWR services, which negates the use e.g. of the very sparsely occupied early direct train from Paddington to Swansea via Chippenham..
