Title: Question 6 – 24 Jul 2023: Parson Street Station issues
Post by: Red Squirrel on July 24, 2023, 17:41:21
Can revenue protection staff could be deployed at Parson Street station on Bristol City football Saturday afternoon match days, and is there any update on a step free access for Parson Street.

Our revenue teams strategically plan when to deploy a full revenue block, with full consideration given to each individual location and the impact that this activity might have on safety at the station. Revenue blocks are a useful tool in ensuring that passengers are paying the appropriate fare for journeys being made, but we must ensure it is safe to do so.

We don’t have any news on step free access at the station, the DfT are yet to make any announcement on the Access for All awards for the industry, and we don’t have a date when we can expect them to be made.

How far down the priority list of stations does Parsons Street appear?

At this stage I am not sure - but will find out. The stations without access are often the more difficult and challenging but I want us to make progress quicker - if funds can be found.
