Title: Heritage and attraction posts - geographically how wide should we go Post by: grahame on July 06, 2023, 12:01:45 Our Heritage railway lines, Railtours, other rail based attractions board is not specific in saying where (in the world)
As I posted up (yet another) Irish thread, I found myself what members think of the geographic range for heritage and attraction posts. As I don't know, I'm asking! Do you want to read about the White Pass and Yukon? The Brokken? Irish pedal rail? Leadhills and Wanlockhead? Mangapps Farm? Title: Re: Heritage and attraction posts - geographically how wide should we go Post by: broadgage on July 06, 2023, 16:04:40 I voted for "British isles" but would add the caveat that posts about more distant attractions could be included if exceptionally important/interesting.

Lovely to see you posting again broadgage Title: Re: Heritage and attraction posts - geographically how wide should we go Post by: eXPassenger on July 06, 2023, 21:13:17 I voted for "British isles" but would add the caveat that posts about more distant attractions could be included if exceptionally important/interesting. I agree Title: Re: Heritage and attraction posts - geographically how wide should we go Post by: grahame on July 13, 2023, 15:30:53 Quote South West England and South Wales - 0 (0%) England and Wales - 1 (4.3%) Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) - 1 (4.3%) United Kingdom (Great Britain PLUS Northern Ireland) - 1 (4.3%) British Isles (UK + Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands) - 11 (47.8%) Europe - 0 (0%) Worldwide - 9 (39.1%) No real doubt - anything British Isles is fair game. So if I get to Listowel or Ballybunion I can tell you about it. I voted for "British isles" but would add the caveat that posts about more distant attractions could be included if exceptionally important/interesting. Repeated several times ... so I'm inclined to think that the Cass Scenic Railroad (https://mountainrailwv.com/tour/shay-2/) can be included but probably not the Seminole Gulf Railway (https://semgulf.com). Cass, of course, is particularly inclined! This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
