Title: buying a railcard for non U.k. residents
Post by: infoman on April 22, 2023, 04:34:22
two friends coming to U.K. arriving at Gatwick heading to Bristol.

Could they buy a friends together card BEFORE they depart and have the card sent to an overseas address before leaving their home

Not keen on them faffing about at Gatwick airport trying to get a railcard after a long flight.

I think the card  COULD be put straight on smart phone, but I think they would like a physical card in their hands

Is it available online via the railcard.couk website?

I can’t easily check on my current device

Most frequently asked questions
Can visitors to Britain buy the Two Together Railcard?
A:
Yes, you can.
Simply click ‘Buy Now on the website homepage to get started. When you get to the question 'Choose the type of Railcard you would like' select 'Digital' and follow the instructions on the screen to complete your purchase.
You can also buy a Railcard at Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport rail stations, Luton Airport Parkway and Manchester Airport – but NOT at London Heathrow Airport.

So itvlooks as though you can only get the physical card on arrival here in GB

We have 8 members of our 'Singapore Branch' coming over to the UK in early May for our youngest son's wedding and they are armed with 4 x Digital Two Together railcards. At least two of the party are not the most IT literate individuals you would ever meet and they coped with the download process perfectly happily.

Their rail travel schedules for the visit made these railcards much better value than a handful of BritRail passes.
