Could they buy a friends together card BEFORE they depart and have the card sent to an overseas address before leaving their home Not keen on them faffing about at Gatwick airport trying to get a railcard after a long flight. At least two of the party are not the most IT literate individuals you would ever meet and they coped with the download process perfectly happily.
Their rail travel schedules for the visit made these railcards much better value than a handful of BritRail passes.
