http://www.oxfordmail.net/news/headlines/display.var.2244740.0.rail_service_will_improve.php Rail Minister Tom Harris said emergency plans to improve First Great Western's services were being closely monitored. He said: Quote from: Tom Harris I expect and hope that we will see significant improvements in First Great Western's performance in the next few months." Mr Harris was responding to Oxford West and Abingdon MP Evan Harris, who asked when "long-suffering passengers" might see some progress. Title: Re: Harris Predicts "Significant Improvements" In FGW/Oxfordshire Rail Services Post by: gwr2006 on May 02, 2008, 21:28:32 I think most of us who use FGW in the Thames Valley-Oxfordshire area will have to agree there has been a major improvement in the past few months.
Gone are the staff shortages of a few months ago as dozens of new staff have now been trained to work the new HSTs, stations seem more focused on getting trains away on time, stations are look better and a member of staff told me they are achieving PPM above 90%. If that is true it is a major turnaround by the new management...all we need now is a reliable information system so we all know what is going on!
