Title: Click-bait headline; cycling (or not) in Weymouth Post by: CyclingSid on March 10, 2022, 10:13:12 Call to end time limited ban on cycling

Universal problem, ban lycra and wrap-round shades?! Must admit it is one reason why I don't tend to go to Weymouth, the last time I went I got the impression I was greeted by a No Cycling sign outside the station. Need to do the same in Bournemouth. Pity the journo hadn't noticed that Dorset is no longer a county. That news will come as a bit of a shock to the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sherriff of the County of Dorset. Counties existed for at least a millennium before county councils came into being. Dorset IS still a county - it just no longer has a County Council. In the same way as Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire are still counties. even though they no longer have County Councils. We should also remember that Bath and Clevedon and Portishead etc are still in Somerset and Swindon is still in Wiltshire.
