Title: Major Cancellations Waterloo <> Reading Nov 5th
Post by: CJB666 on November 06, 2021, 09:14:57
All SWR services out of Waterloo to / from Reading, Windsor & Eton, Weybridge, Addlestone were cancelled last night. Apparently there were emergency services and police attendance at an 'incident' between Richmond and Barnes incl. affecting the Hounslow loop. Does anyone know what happened?

There was "a person hit by a train" somewhere near Barnes last night at around 17:50. it's hard to say where in the absence of news reports, since the immediate effect was to stop all trains on all the Windsor Lines. Longer-distance services (such as Reading) restarted via Hounslow from about 19:20, with the line via Richmond reopening  from 21:00. You might see the lack of news reports as a sad commentary on how common such events are.

You might see the lack of news reports as a sad commentary on how common such events are.

Or you might see it as a responsible press trying not to encourage other desperate people to di the same.
