Title: Can I still buy a ticket from the guard on a North Downs Line train?
Post by: RichT54 on July 13, 2021, 16:43:18
I've not travelled by train since March 2020, but need to go from Sandhurst to Guildford tomorrow.

I used to just buy my ticket from the guard on the train, can I still do this?

Show no ticket machine and no ticket office at Sandhurst, so "yes" would be my view.

As someone who commuted along this route most working days for nearly 20 years pre-covid, be warned that ticket machines seem to have a high failure rate on this route, so be prepared to have to explain and buy your ticket on arrival at Guildford.
