At least two major apartment developments will be in full swing by summer and, unless action is taken, heavy building vehicles could clog traffic. A key figure with Newquay's most prolific development firm has warned lives could be put at risk and frustrations could boil over unless steps are taken to prevent the chaos. Talks between planners, the highways department, police and developers are now moving forward to find a solution to the problem - which has the potential to seriously damage Newquay's tourist resort reputation if visitors are badly waylaid by gridlock.
