Title: Marooned goods vans Post by: Reading General on October 30, 2020, 19:48:57 To the north of the relief lines just east of the Huntley and Palmers tunnel are three goods vans hidden in the undergrowth of the embankment. These should become visible again as the greenery is thinning out. I always wonder whether they are still sat on track as some rails were certainly still laying in this yard in the 90's.

That was one reason so many customers were keen to switch to their own road vehicles. Title: Re: Marooned goods vans Post by: AMLAG on October 30, 2020, 20:35:38 They seem to show up on google earth, the roof of the middle one looks to have caved in. They are (unless you have seen their chassis and wheels?) probably grounded van bodies, originally for storage. Is it time to start an urban myth about them still being in the vegetation waiting to be discovered?
