Looking at A calendar this morning I noticed that it claimed tomorrow Monday the 4th was a bank holiday.
I looked round the house and found that I have 2 calendars and 1 diary. of these only one of the calendars has the Bank holiday shown correctly as Friday 8th.

Members may like to have a look at diarys and calendars in their homes and see how many are correct.

What is a bank holiday? And when is Easter?

Everybody knows May the 4th isn't a bank holiday.

It got shifted for VE Day this year, but bit late for some of the printers I suspect.  Not that it's going to make much difference this time around.

May the 4th SHOULD be a bank hoiliday, in a future far far away.

What! - of course many cannot work but many of us can and do continue to work.

About 90% of the staff at the company I work for are still working.  Many - like me - safely from home, some in the relative safety of a large laboratory, but a few out there in the field at rather more risk in order to ensure that services that you rely on continue!

Please do not forget them.

Not forgotten - came across badly.  Working from home can blunt the 5 days on - 2 days off cycle.   And lockdown removes the "let's go out it's the weekend" and "hey, special bank holiday ... lets all go out and see the bluebells".    Sameness of day, not lack of work.  Hospitals, care homes, stores all carry on. 

I guess my own working life changed for a very clear 5 + 2 through blurs to include weekends too.

Yes, a lot of our support and essentiol services are a still working, and will not get the bank holiday off, so all thanks to those who are. but the gist of the thread is that when the bank holiday is, make much diference, so dont forget to take a bit of time out on Friday to remember the point of why the bank holiday was moved, sure Captain Tom will.

Round way wrong??

I've been busier than usual which feels a bit weird in the current climate but equally I've lost track of days. Home working means apart from Skype calls I can work much more flexibly.

No idea it was a bank holiday (or not a bank holiday today) but its cheered me up and now I'm going to decline all the meetings with people who have also lost track of days had put in for Friday.

As I saw somewhere - 'bin day' and 'other days' is all you need now.

Is a bin day a day that's bin and gone?  ;D

Hmm; our bin waste collection day is Friday. Last Friday they failed to empty the food waste bin for some reason. So if this week's collection gets shifted to Monday, it's going to be a bit smelly... good job the weather's turned cooler!
