Title: 27th March 2020. Public Health + Sustainable Transport Summit, Bristol Post by: grahame on February 22, 2020, 16:28:22 27th March 2020. Public Health + Sustainable Transport Summit. CITY HALL, BRISTOL
at http://landor.co.uk/transporthealth/2020/programme.php Health warning - attendance could seriously damage your wallet Quote The 4th Annual Public Health & Sustainable Transport Summit is the UK's must-attend event for practitioners responsible for improving public health through the provision of healthy, clean and active transport options. Physical inactivity is the fourth leading risk factor for poor health. Air pollution is responsible for more deaths than smoking, and zero carbon policies are urgently needed to combat climate change. The solution? Healthy, active and sustainable travel options. Prevention rather than cure is now government’s public health priority, and policy makers and planners can make a significant difference to positive health outcomes through boosting the delivery of active travel and better public transport schemes. Includes expert keynote presentations from: * Stephen Peacock, Executive Director: Growth & Regeneration, Bristol City Council * Dame Sarah Storey, Active Travel Commissioner, Sheffield City Region * Cllr Suzanne Bartington, Cycling Champion, Oxfordshire County Council * Christina Gray, Director of Public Health, Bristol City Council * James Freeman, Managing Director, First West of England Undoubtedly, a move towards active and public transport can and will do a great deal for the level of public health, be it cleaner air, cycling, or the simple act of walking to the bus or train. Title: Re: 27th March 2020. Public Health + Sustainable Transport Summit, Bristol Post by: grahame on March 23, 2020, 16:56:19 Quote The government has published guidance surrounding the CONVID-19 situation stating any large gathering should be avoided for now to limit the spread of coronavirus. Therefore, Landor LINKS, in agreement with our event partners, are now rescheduling the 4th Annual Public Health & Sustainable Transport Summit to 4 September 2020. It will take place as planned at City Hall in Bristol and we expect the programme to largely remain as it appears today. All tickets and bookings are now valid for the new date and we very much look forward to welcoming you in September and thank you for your understanding.
