Title: Public transport (especially UK Rail / GWR area) useful links Post by: grahame on December 30, 2019, 14:16:27 Copied here today (30.12.2019) from reply no. 12 in our forum intro thread (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/1761) to allow this list to be directly reached with a short link. This list will be updated from time to time. Please provides suggestions.

Newcomers might find an added single line description where it isn't obvious from the url. Possibly add mapping sites, especially one by a forum member and Railmap online.
Title: Re: Public transport (especially UK Rail / GWR area) useful links Post by: grahame on December 31, 2019, 07:24:00 Thank you Grahame. Newcomers might find an added single line description where it isn't obvious from the url. Possibly add mapping sites, especially one by a forum member and Railmap online. Your suggestion is a good one. Categorising, a soundbite for each site, and some additions such as Railmap online are excellent thoughts. I would be delighted if you were to add those one-liners; quote in a separate post and it can be moved up - the help would be appreciated. The suggestion graphically illustrates the extra usefulness of having a little more than an alphabetic list of URLs ... for there is already a mapping site by a forum member listed at http://systemed.net/atlas/ . I suspect that's the one you mean ... it's the one I use by preference to look at network structure past and present. And others do too ... I sat opposite a teenager on a recent journey from Weymouth to Melksham and on his tablet he was tracking our journey; I was impressed that he was using the Adlestrop map, and he was impressed that I was able to refer to it by name and "namedrop" the source. And both of us were more than impressed by the clarity of the mapping and all the work that's gone into it. Hope it works. Wow - that was quick and (yes) it does work. I'm working towards a couple of end-of-year deadlines ... will give others a day or two to add further links and reformat (via a script) to help it tabulate. Missing URLs that other folks rely on and love would be most welcome! Probably too long a list in unsorted / uncategorised form ... other links and ideas welcome Title: Re: Public transport (especially UK Rail / GWR area) useful links Post by: CyclingSid on May 07, 2020, 10:04:16 Add

Also some of the below may be duplicates - I need to check back when home and not having to change trains at the next stop.
