Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Conner on March 28, 2008, 19:42:08 Is 373 still red? AFAIK Yes, haven't heard otherwise, thinking of going?Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: devon_metro on March 29, 2008, 09:27:57 373 has been refurbished.
Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Conner on March 29, 2008, 17:18:09 373 has been refurbished. Was swapped with Newquay unit anyway.Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: vacman on March 29, 2008, 23:27:42 231 has lost it's Arriva branding.
Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Conner on March 30, 2008, 09:43:45 229 had the destination City Line on both ends yesterday, driver obviously thought he was being cleaver. :D
I thought the Arriva units were really uncomfortable, the seats had hardly any leg room, left you feeling claustrophobic and had no arm rests. The 150/1's are much more comfortable even though they have the same seating layout. And when Central rfurbished those 150's they hardly did anyhting, only looked like new seats and that was it, Intermediate Door Controls were only fitted by Arriva just before coming to us, a pretty bad refurb by Central. Also of note 158760+153372 formed the 06:48 BTM-PNZ to make me happy. ;D Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: devon_metro on March 30, 2008, 10:28:20 Nothing like the train at Starcross off to Windemere ;)

City Line was quite clever with Truro being the only city in Cornwall. There is a 142 going to Stockport aswell. Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: devon_metro on March 30, 2008, 11:01:03 They've got a whole Northern destination blinds set

Central had those units for about 5 minutes. Those refurbs were done during the 10 years they were at Anglia Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Conner on March 30, 2008, 15:59:31 And when Central rfurbished those 150's they hardly did anyhting, only looked like new seats and that was it, Intermediate Door Controls were only fitted by Arriva just before coming to us, a pretty bad refurb by Central. Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Chris from Nailsea on April 09, 2008, 23:42:56 229 had the destination City Line on both ends yesterday, driver obviously thought he was being clever. :D 150229 formed the 0905 Nailsea to Taunton service this morning, but the destination board was (rather disappointingly) just 'Taunton'! I was hoping to see 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch' at the very least! I rather liked the Arriva TW refurb / livery, though - but only from what I saw of it, from the opposite platform. Title: Re: Arriva Trains Kernow Post by: Timmer on April 11, 2008, 07:19:06 Still a world away from the Wessex 150's. By redoing the layout of their 150s Wessex did improve the fleet giving more space in the carriage by removing some seats and installing tables. Its good to see that FGW have kept that layout in their refurb of the fleet.Speaking of 150s I notice that they have been appearing more frequently on the Brighton services recently.
