Title: Adopt a Station
Post by: Jim on April 09, 2007, 09:28:01
Has anyone from Melksham ever considered adopting your station, IMO it isn;t the most plesent station on the network & I am sure that perhaps with a facelift (& more services) passengers would be encouraged to use it more. Just a few hours every month looking after the station could make all the difference & relly show that WE care about the line, even if FGW don't

It's been adopted / is tended by three members of the Melksham Rail Development Group ... complete with saftey briefings and high-visibility jackets.  The big problem with the flowerbeds is that there's no water tap on site and the team has carried the water in.   We all wish that extending the adoption could help us extend the services but I think that requires action from others too.
