Title: Todays CDF to PMH services Post by: Jez on March 24, 2008, 17:39:56 Travelled on this service today only from Cardiff to Newport though ;)
12.30 out was ex TPE 158769 (2 cars), return journey was the 12.22 from PMH arriving at Newport at 15.34. It was 2 x ex TRE 158's - cant remember the numbers now but 776 and 778 I think, but I was quite disappointed I still havent managed to get on a refurbished 158. Myself and 2 passengers had a carriage to ourselves on the way back from Newport, and one of the other carriages looked to be empty too, most passengers seemed to be on the front 2 carriages so perhaps this extra train was only added later into the journey?? You could say this service was the opposite of overcrowded for once (although it was the tail end of the journey, many people would have got off in BTM)! Mind you, this would have been the 16.30 back to PMH so I think a 4 car is needed for that particular train. I actually chose to go on the PMH service from Cardiff to Newport today in the hope of going on one of these refurbished 158's. I could have gone on about 6 other trains that go from Cardiff to Newport! ;) This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
