Devonport residents have hit back at a national newspaper's claims that the area is known for 'drab housing estates, rusting play parks and high levels of unemployed adults' (link below.)

I'm sure some forum members on here will be crying 'ghetto' and 'Sodom & Gommorah' about Devonport soon.

Yes, it does have its fair share of probs, BUT it does have a good community spirit, and I think that it is great that it is hitting back at its detractors. It also has improved over the years, and violent crime is not as bad as it was.
Hopefully, the critics will be eating their words in a few years!
