Title: Signalling Problems In The Bridgend Area (23/03/2008)
Post by: Lee on March 23, 2008, 22:06:01
From the FGW website :

Line problem in the Bridgend area.
Train services between Cardiff Central and Bridgend are being disrupted due to signalling problems in the Bridgend area.Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations and delays of up to 60 minutes can be expected.

Some trains are being diverted via an alternative route (which one would assume would be the Vale Of Glamorgan line) causing delays of up to one hour.

Fair comment, John, and sorry for the confusion!  I'm not familiar with the locality, I was just looking at the mention of it affecting trains between Cardiff Central, Bridgend and Swansea!  I see now that the NR site referred to 'Signalling problem at Llansamlet, between Bridgend and Swansea'!  :-[

Just to note that the signalling problem at Bridgend was on the 23rd March.
The post of mine you have linked to was from 18th March.

... which just confirms that I had lost all sense of time, as well!  Sorry, I must have been looking at more than one webpage at that time, and I perhaps clicked on the wrong link?   :-[

How regularly do we get signalling problems along the South Wales route in general, regardless of location?
