You can just make out the very low platform on Street View. The current station dates from WWII.

And here I am today ... final 2+8 HST excursion and I'm back in time too with 120 people (estimate) on a 153, with conductor requesting people to move up, then a wheelchair has to be loaded at an intermediate station ... I dispair that there is one half rack of food, one half rack of soft drinks, and two complete racks of alcohol. And I ended up having quite an interesting chat with one of Northern Rail's army of security contractors ... telling me all about the alcohol hotspots, dry trains and how they transfer the awkward squad to other trains that are not dry including how the particular train came to be dry in the first place. Wonderful how a smile and a friendly comment can break the ice with even the most daunting looking individual.
