I wrote this for my upcoming First Class All Line Rover for my planning ... but nevertheless thought it would be useful.

I don't know how the Modern Toc's get away with calling any Meal Service PULLMAN, not when you think back to what "Pullman" service USED to stand for.

Dinner on the 15.00 Plymouth-Waterloo? Who runs that train SWT.

Just out of interest, how good is the FGW Pullman Breakfast?

That's a London Paddington service!

You've obviously never sampled a Pullman meal on FGW smokey, they may be few and far between but they are very well presented and delivered, proper plates, cutlery and cups with saucers, table cloths etc. Of note, the 0655 from Plymouth to Padd actually starts from Penzance at 0505, the restaurant starts from Plymouth.

My swap to the Golden Hind in the mornings has worked out well (much quieter from Newton to Exeter and I always get a seaside window seat) but I wonder if I would ever have enough time to enjoy the full Pullman breakfast as I'm only on the train for 20 mins....would be nice to try it one day!

I've had Meals on the BR run Manchester Pullman, very good it was too, but the Quality of so called "Pullman" on today's railway falls well short of all that "Pullman" stood for.

Not that much different.
