I can't but help feel that the experiment will not lead to a long term business opportunity.

That said I would love to be down there to see it.

It takes a brave man to drive onto the transporter at the top, guided only by a small wooden chock! Having been there, it gives me the heebbies just thinking about it.

A selection of classic cars were loaded individually onto the Lynton and Lynmouth cliff railway in Devon, to be transported 862ft (263m) to the top.

The last time cars were transported on the funicular railway was in 1952, to get them out of Lynmouth after major flooding.
