14:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 17:54
14:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 17:54 will call additionally at Severn Tunnel Junction.
Service full and standing from Salisbury.
This is due to overcrowding.

How can it be due to overcrowding?  Isn't overcrowding another description of "full and standing"?

I might have mentioned this before, but there was a time (probably in the sixties) when stations were issued with 'A' boards. Printed at the top was "Trains are running late due to" and underneath was a blackboard area on which was scrawled one word 'Delay".

"A distant cousin went to an expensive private school in Wells".
"Tautology?"
"I expect so"
