Title: Service Delivery Manager on the train
Post by: Flup on February 27, 2008, 10:09:23
Probably others would disagree but I just found her arrogant.  Every time someone tried to tell her how bad the service is, she said "yes, I know all the problems, I know lots of people round here, I used to work on trains" etc.  Why bother coming out if you're not going to listen?

Just shut up, pay attention, look contrite, and don't pretend you can make a difference.

I beg to differ - if its the same one I spoke to before christmas

Pointed out that there were no longer any saleables on the FC trolley and since FC have to queue with SC - by the time we get to the front its often sold out and you are standing until reading.

She agreed it was off - the next week there were saleables and if there arent, the trolley dollies go fetch for you - if agency they take the money, get the buffet to ring it up and make change and then return with the goods and change.

Works well now.

Such low class, outright scum should not have the right to BUY what they want from the buffet where FC customers could enjoy such a thing for free. Truly outrageous.

Excuse me, can we have less references to "scum" please? I think it's fair to say the majority of people reading this forum are regular Standard Class travellers on FGW, and they shouldn't have to see themselves referred to in this way - even if it was intended in a jocular fashion, as I'm sure it was. Thanks.

Yes, not meant to offend. Was simply summing up the opinion I seem to get from First Class customers who are 'demi-gods'

I have never said that SC are scum - just that if you pay more you should get preference over those who pay less.

I travel first class where its available if travelling long distance, but I don't see myself as different to anyone else its just a personal choice that I make to pay the extra to travel in first class. Believe me there will be many who choose to travel in standard who are a lot better off than I am but don't want to pay the extra and are happy travelling standard.

I think FC should get everything free from the Buffet, but ONLY people with FC seasons, open or saver first fares, NOT FC leisure advance! If i'd paid the ^300+ for a FC return from Truro to Padd then i'd expect it!

You mean a bit like most other long distance operators...........

Which is why its worse when you queue for 20 minutes and find the buffet looking as if its been set on by a plague of locusts

Look out for the FC drunks getting off the train after a bender on FREE Beer and wine! ;D
