Title: Westbury Connections Post by: grahame on July 25, 2017, 17:40:39 "Connections to and from stations beyond Westbury are an important element in TransWilts traffic". Yeah - observation sees people changing, but it would be nice to have some numbers. So staring this thread to log observations.
This afternoon, Tuesday 25th July 2017 ... some numbers. 15:39 at Melksham. 18 off and 9 on; 29 on train to Trowbridge 47/27 1 passenger connecting to Penzance service. 5 passengers connecting to service via Salisbury. 16:21 from Westbury. 4 passengers connecting from service via Salisbury, none from the HST from (?) Exeter 31 passenger on train into Melksham, 22 off and 7 on - 38/29 Connecting numbers lower than I expected (and looked far less as they flowed around Westbury than I have seen). I suspect that this varies by days of the week and the connecting number rise on Thurday and rocket on Friday. Even at today's numbers, it's 1,250 journeys per annum and I suspect the real number to be over 1,500 and under 2,000. Further measurements to follow. Origin / destination stations - Portsmouth Harbour, Eastleigh, Warminster and a handful of Salisburys.
