Quote Three fire appliances from Greenbank and Camels Head stations were mobilised following reports of flames issuing from a railway shed on Mullet Road in Plymouth. Shortly after arriving on scene the incident commander requested the assistance of a fourth fire appliance, so the pump from Plymstock was alerted to attend. The fire was found to be in the exhaust of the traction unit of a high speed train located within a commercial railway shed, so set to work using a water jet and ladders to reach the fire. Crews also used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and fire spread. The fire had spread to the roof vents of the railway shed, and caused slight damage to both the roof and the train traction unit. The cause was confirmed as accidental. Other source places this as Laira depot, with all trains stopped on and off depot and power car 43195 damaged. RTT shows all departures running normally so far this morning, so thankfully no impact on services, though one power car down could have implications.
