Cancellations to services between Newton Abbot and Exeter St Davids Due to a person being hit by a train between Newton Abbot and Exeter St Davids all lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00 25/03. One GWR Paddington service terminated at Dawlish another being held at Newton Abbot in line with the industry's policy of trying to hold trains at stations wherever possible.

I believe it was the 0655 from Plymouth which was terminated and the 0747 from Plymouth which is being held? Correct. The 0655 then ran a dawlish to Paignton service in lieu of a unit stuck Exeter side. Not sure what happened to the 0655 passengers, unless they were taken via Paignton. The incident took place at around 7.30am and the route was closed for around two hours. First Great Western and Crosscountry trains were affected. A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: "BTP can confirm that a male was injured after being struck by a train in the area of Starcross Station. The incident was reported to police at 7:37am and was being treated as non-suspicious. Officers from BTP and Devon and Cornwall Police attended the incident.
