Title: New style platform departure screens Post by: bobm on March 19, 2017, 07:39:19 Over the last few months there has been a new style of CIS at Didcot Parkway.
(http://www.mbob.co.uk/rforum/didcis1.jpg) The scrolling display indicated the train was in reverse formation (http://www.mbob.co.uk/rforum/didcis2.jpg) This one is the first I have seen which indicates whether 1st class on a turbo is at the front or rear of the train. Title: Re: New style platform departure screens Post by: IndustryInsider on March 19, 2017, 10:47:57 Sadly the 1st Class location is often at the other end than that listed and often not available at all - but I've never seen a display without 1st class apparently being available somewhere! Nice idea that needs some tweaks before widespread implementation. I'm also not convinced of white as I don't think it works as well as the traditional orange.
Title: Re: New style platform departure screens Post by: Thatcham Crossing on March 19, 2017, 10:48:52 I noticed a few weeks ago that the main departure boards at Kings X have these - it seemed for the longer distance services - basically to show where there are unreserved seats on the HST's and IC225's.
