Title: Extra train, 2nd March, Swindon to Salisbury and back
Post by: grahame on February 23, 2017, 06:58:50
10:06 from Swindon (153 - carriage off 09:04 arrival from Gloucester via Bristol Temple Meads)
11:27 return at 11:27 from Salisbury
13:32 empty to Bristol

Planned visit by VIP group

Noting use of platform 3 at Salisbury.  Thought that 153s were banned from that platform?

I notice it is running as a Class 9,  the reminder to signallers to keep it out of Platform 3.

Which is ironic when the real time trains pages based on Network Rail's data feed has it to platform 3.   Is it the whole platform that can't be used for a 153, or just one end?

Indeed.  I understand there was a relatively last minute change of plan to replace the 153 with one of the green 150s.  Ran as 2Z26 to Salisbury and 2Z27 back to Swindon.
