Title: Welsh Stations Post by: TJ on January 22, 2017, 01:15:59 To help me with a quiz that I am compiling is anyone aware of a station in Wales that has a statue, monument or plaque somewhere on the platforms.
Any information would be gratefully received. TJ Title: Re: Welsh Stations Post by: JayMac on January 22, 2017, 02:11:40 There's this set into the down platform at Llandrindod Wells:
http://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/archive/6377069/details/504 Inscription reads: 'THIS STONE FROM THE CLAERWEN DAM MARKS THE SPOT WHERE, ON 23rd OCTOBER 1952, HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II. FIRST SET FOOT IN WALES AFTER HER ACCESSION TO THE THRONE.'
