Title: Level crossing failure 13/01/2017
Post by: Trowres on January 13, 2017, 21:51:53
Services this evening are being heavily delayed between Westbury and Salisbury, due to "signalling problems" but elsewhere reported as  a level crossing failure.

1F29, the 17:30 Cardiff-Portsmouth, after spending an hour at Warminster and lesser times at subsequent signals, is now approaching Wilton 136 minutes late.

Behind it are the 2O00 Cheltenham-Southampton and 1O52 Westbury-Salisbury (SWT service). The following Cardiff-Portsmouth was terminated at Westbury, and 1F99, the 19:30 Cardiff-Portsmouth is at the rear of the queue of trains, somewhere around Warminster as I write.

In the other direction, trains seem to have been getting through slightly better, with the worst delay about 65 minutes; although the Brighton-Bristol was terminated at Salisbury.
