2. Is of course (drum roll please...) Taunton.  ;D

I know all the others, but I'll let others have a go.

To be honest, I did get Chippenham straight away, and then Taunton (having refreshed my memory simply by being there earlier today!), but I don't know the others.  ::)

Well I'm going to be really fussy here because the question is can you identify all four locations (please) so:
1. Chippenham
2. Taunton
3. Westbury
4. Pilning

I'll get my hat and coat on the way out............ ;) :D :P

That's rather annoying, because on my first viewing of this topic, I was about 90% sure 3 was Westbury.  But I had no idea about 4.  ::)

Not anymore.  I retired last week after 46 years in the S&T industry ;) ;D

Congratulations on an illustrious career, and best wishes for a long and happy retirement, then!  :D

Would you like to change your username here to "SandTEngineer(ret'd)" ?  ;) ;D

Only problem would be that (ret'd) could easily mean something else  ;)

Thanks for the thanks :D

I do remember the HST introduction and I also like the 'banana' livery which suited the time quite well.  Quite revolutionary for its day ;)

Oh yes I remember it well huge improvement but god the noise that they first made with those Valenta engines ,at the time we all thought that the Hoovers were noisy enough
But the old high speed fart box beat them hands down still time passes and some forty years on what a good and usefull engine and roling stock they have been I'm so glad that they will be going on to carry out service elsewhere  :)
Whilst I'm reminiscing and without wanting to sound too much like The Fat Controler
I do miss the sound of a pair of Maybachs in a Western  :-\ .

Had Swallow on the front of my morning service yesterday. Was attracting quite a bit of attention, not least from the driver who was photographing it at  BRI before carrying on the journey!  He was saying what many of us have that it's a shame that full sets can't be created because of the need for distinct door colours.
