Pic 1 A Voyager speeding through Chippenham. XC services diverted via Swindon owing to signal work in the Bristol area picking up at Bath heading North, setting down heading South West.

Quite ironic that I'm heading up to Edinburgh Monday night on the sleeper (Swindon, Paddington, etc) when there are direct services all weekend. Putting my bets on the sleeper being more comfortable though!  ;D

Pic 2...A train not severely overcrowded on bank holiday?  ::)

Pic 3...2M18 seems like a later service? -shrugs-

Yes, correct

Pic 2 taken on a quieter section of the route, so even for a bank holiday it's about right there ... Pic 3 there *is* something odd in the service list; that 21:42 is only a few minutes different to a normal saturday though

3.  A lovely display of flowers in the platform planters at Melksham Station - with thanks to those who have clearly done some gardening work there.  ;) :D ;D

New passing loop at Melksham - with just one minute between northbound and southbound services at 13:20 ?   ::)  ;D

That was indeed the one I had in mind.     With just a signalling change, I suppose you could bring in 2 trains, front door only, and swap over all the passengers.    Think they do something similar in Llandudno.

Rolf has done a fantastic job  ;D

Number 2 is a view down the only proper 158 intermediate carriage in the GWR fleet ... all but this unit are formed with an intermediate carriage that was formerly an end carriage and has a driving cab on one end, to make a shorter saloon.
