Quote West Hampstead overground closed: Man dies after being hit by train near Thameslink station A man has died after being hit by a train just outside West Hampstead overground station at around 7am this morning. A London Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman confirmed his death is not currently being treated as suspicious. Following the incident, trains stopped running at the station for around an hour and knock-on delays are expected to last until at least 11am, according to National Rail. At around 8am a National Rail spokesperson said: ^A person has been hit by a train near West Hampstead Thameslink. Journeys between Luton and London St Pancras will be extended by up to 20 minutes and will not call at West Hampstead Thameslink.^ By 9am National Rail had updated Londoners on Twitter, saying West Hampstead station had re-opened, but that delays of half an hour to the Luton to St Pancras services should be expected for several hours. The operator says passengers^ tickets will continue to be accepted on alternative travel routes, including London Underground, London buses, London Overground and Great Northern services via any reasonable route.
