Title: Not a cool way to travel Post by: grahame on April 17, 2016, 23:06:34 From the Western Daily Press (http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/UPDATE-23-migrants-shivering-200-miles-lorry/story-29126242-detail/story.html)
Quote 23 migrants were 'shivering for 200 miles' in back of lorry found in Wiltshire Stunned police declared a major emergency for police and ambulance after 23 migrants and refugees were found freezing in the back of a refrigeration lorry in north Wiltshire. All of the migrants were suffering from the cold having spent hours in the back of the chiller lorry, and the condition of 11 of them was so bad they had to be taken to hospital. It is understood they got onto the lorry near one of the French ports and had been shivering inside all the way through the Channel Tunnel, along three motorways for 200 miles, before the truck came to a stop near the village of Stanton St Quintin, close to junction 17 of the M4, near Chippenham. The discovery of so many ^ half of which needed hospital treatment ^ sparked a major incident operation, with police declaring an emergency at the truck stop. A seriously sad story ... but every cloud has its dark humour Quote The immigrants were found in the back of a lorry owned by international shipping company Leatrans, based at Limerick City in Ireland. Their website says: "There are no limits on the type of cargo traffic we can handle".
