Title: Sharp practice at Grand Central? Post by: ChrisB on April 10, 2016, 14:13:25 Was looking to book onto today's 1348 service from Kings Cross to Thirsk, and checked their website to see if they offered weekend first upgrades. Nothing mentioned I could see, and I even tried their search box...threw nothing.
It now appears they do - ^15 as far as you wish to travel, but not on Advances. I'm putting in a refund request tomorrow for the difference between an off-peak 1st and the cost of an upgraded (super) off-peak single and the off-peak 1st that I bought. Very glad I chose to go 1st though. There were no reservations in STD .... It's full & standing back there, so Arriva are getting somethings right! But not advertising the weekend first upgrade when you do offer it is sharp practice in my book! Title: Re: Sharp practice at Grand Central? Post by: ChrisB on April 10, 2016, 14:26:57 Update: they don't offer a super off-peak STD, so it would be the ^62.10 off-peak upgraded.
Thus ^12 out of pocket. Oh, their wifi is broken too, so I'm on my trusty 3 dongle Title: Re: Sharp practice at Grand Central? Post by: PhilWakely on April 10, 2016, 14:33:31 <pedant mode>
With apologies for trivialising your comments, I trust you mean GRAND Central. It would be brilliant if GREAT Central could operate from Kings Cross to Thirsk. </pedant mode> Title: Re: Sharp practice at Grand Central?
