Title: My trip today - where have I been?
Post by: grahame on December 29, 2015, 19:26:34
I've been out and about today .. and will follow up with a technical set of notes.  Can you tell me the stations where I left / joined trains. Please take a guess at them all - I will let you know when they have all been identified (and prior to that you can discuss which are right and which wrong!)

Thanks, grahame!  ;)

I haven't actually seen it, but I rather suspect that picture 1. is one of those new-fangled passenger lifts, which may perchance have now been installed at Chippenham station?  ::)

5 Exeter St Thomas?

Ah. That would explain why I didn't recognize that one: I've never been there.  ;D

(Not that that absolves me from my blatant inability to recognize most pictures of Taunton, though.)  :-[

Correct in every particular - a 'good' day is described as one that I have a chance to learn / achieve something. In this case about the South West franchise consultation, what knowledgeable local people are looking for and what the DfT are looking for in terms of inputs to help them as best as possible.    A very good day is one that some excellent networking goes on too, and en excellent one with icing on the cake is where I get to see places and have a fun journey too.

Today was an excellent day!

Absolutely gobsmacked at how quiet the long distance trains were in the morning, and how busy in the afternoon ... picture 7 is crowds waiting at Westbury to join the 16:23 to Penzance - there are always lots of people joining trains to the west at Westbury  (people with influence - please note that comment!) - but I'v never seen it quite that busy.   The train up from Exeter to Westbury also very busy - totally out of luggage space even with some extra spaces filled that don't normally take luggage ...
