Tonight's "Pointless" on BBC1 had a question looking for mainline railway stations with the word "Street" in the title. Parson Street scored 1, whilst Worcester Foregate Street was pointless. I take it no-one on this forum was asked?

I think I might have gone for Sole Street or Golf Street ...

Smethick Rolfe Street, Ham Street, Shoreditch High Street, Watford High Street, Blake Street, Duke Street.

But then the pointless answers are on t' web seeing as this was a repeat episode.  :P

I was surprised that Worcester Foregate Street scored less than Parson Street - hence the post. But some of those mentioned were also pointless.

Glastonbury and Street was apparently so pointless it closed.

These kind of questions it depends which part of the country the survey was done in, so it's pot luck for the pointless scores.

I just took a look and note that the show was originally recorded at Television Centre and moved to Elstree - don't know where the questions were asked, but the suburban ones in Birmingham coming up perhaps indicates the question wasn't asked there ...

 The "Marylebone Street" and "Baker Street" answers were amusing.  ;D

Questions are asked via an online research community, by a company called Redshift Research. Using a portal called Crowdology.

Anyone resident in the UK aged over 18 can apply to join this community. I've been a member for about 12 months and have been surveyed a couple of times where the questions required multiple answers in 100 seconds. They don't specifically say the survey is for 'Pointless' though. As is the case with most online market research - you rarely know for whose benefit the survey is being conducted. For 'Pointless' I'd guess the 100 people are randomly selected, or selected for diversity based on profile information.

Now we have the 'New' New Street, can we submit the 'Old' New Street as a not very pretty pointless sort of place ?
